Our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ
When you were a little kid, Easter was the best day ever. You would go to Easter parties with friends and go easter egg huntin' and whoever found the golden egg would get a treat. So every kid was on the parole for finding this golden egg to get a prize which was usually something stupid like another piece of candy, or worse a pencil....seen that prize before in elementary school. Now that I'm older, I realize how important the holiday Easter truly is and what it really means. It's not about the chocolate, or easter eggs you get. It's about our Savior Jesus Christ, and what he did for us. The pain and sorrow he went through for all of us, so that we could live again because of his atonement and sacrifice for us. Can you imagine going through what the Savior went through? I can't possibly imagine it, but all I know is that I love my Savior for what he did for me, and taking my sins, MY sins and being crucified for the sins of the world. It wasn't just the Savior that had to sacrifice his life. It was Heavenly Father also, he had to give up his son to the world to die for mankind. The people reading this that have children, can you think of giving your child up for a sacrifice and leaving them stranded to fend on their own and die for the sins of the world? I know one person that has done it, and it's our Heavenly Father. I think he also should be a special part on this Easter season, and say thank you and express our gratitude towards him for giving his son. My Savior brings so much joy into my life. He tells me that I'm going to be okay, and that he's felt what I'm feeling when I'm sad, frustrated, or even, lonely. That's what I love about the Savior he KNOWS what you've been through because he went through YOUR pain. How incredible and marvelous it is, to know that someone knows exactly what you're going through. And even better, is to know that Christ rose the third day in the tomb, "He is not here, but is risen." Luke 24: 6 What a great day that must have been for Peter and John, to go into the tomb and see that Christ had risen! Christ gave us eternal life, so that we too can live again with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. How it must have been to see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ embrace each other in Heaven. I wish I could have been there to see it, I think it would have been the greatest thing to witness. I know that my Redeemer lives, I know that he is always, always at my side at all times when I need him. I love my Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. And I'm thankful for this wonderful season of Easter, so that we all may be reminded that the Savior died so that we might live.
